SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA – – Today, Doctor Yona Barash is proud to announce a major endorsement in his campaign for the 7th Congressional District. The Sacramento Police Officers Association officially endorsed Dr. Yona Barash in the election to unseat Democrat Ami Bera. As a 1,000 member strong association that represents police officers, park rangers, CSO’s, and dispatchers, Yona Barash is honored to have the support of the leading local public safety association.

Born in Romania in 1945 while it was still occupied by Nazi Germany, Barash’s family fled oppression and eventually found safety in a refugee camp in Israel in 1960. He then joined the
Israeli Defense Force after high school and from there graduated from the Hebrew University Medical School. Before immigrating to the United States in 1975 Barash continued to serve in
the IDF Advanced Paratrooper Unit as a physician.
Since moving to the Sacramento area in 1989 Dr. Barash has performed life-saving operations as a surgical oncologist and diagnosed more than 20,000 patients.
Dr. Yona Barash one of the area’s top surgeons is running against Ami Bera for the 7th Congressional District in Sacramento County. Since entering the election Barash has earned the endorsement of Congressman Tom McClintock, former Sacramento Sheriff John McGinness and many more. The 7th District is entirely nested in Sacramento County and includes the cities of Folsom, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova and Fair Oaks.
